A proposed ordinance tabled last meeting by the Marshall City Council is on the agenda to come back for consideration at their Tuesday, Mar. 3 session.
It’s the only ordinance currently listed on the agenda for tonight’s meeting, as city staff is asking the council to allow the pass-through of all fees for plan reviews, inspections, and associated services provided by the city’s third-party inspection firm, the Institute for Building Technology and Safety (IBTS) to applicants. Members of the Community Development and Codes committee met Friday to discuss the ordinance after the council voted Feb. 17 to table the measure. About a dozen developers and business owners critical of the proposal attended last month’s council meeting. The council will also meet in a work session at 5:30 p.m. to discuss a new animal ordinance.
One other city government is scheduled to meet Tuesday. Knob Noster’s board of aldermen will gather at 6 p.m. to consider approval of a request for bids for new water meters and an updated water and sewer connection policy. Aldermen will also consider the approval of bids submitted for a merry-go-round at Mitch Franklin Park, and discuss a mural for the Charlie Norman Park.
Meanwhile, the Slater City Council has cancelled their meeting for Tuesday, citing a lack of agenda items to consider.
