The Saline County Clerk says her office is aware of text messages a number of voters are receiving, claiming their registration may not match their current address.
In a statement issued Wednesday, March 4, county clerk Brittni Burton says that her office has not sent any text messages concerning voter registration. A screenshot of the text shared by Burton claims that the recipient must re-register because they recently moved. However, the link included with the text directs the recipient to a website that, according to online records, was registered last week by a privacy protection firm in Canada. A visit to the website’s main page shows a splash page for a Washington, D.C. polling firm called Pollus.

In a screenshot made public March 4, 2026 by Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton, a text message recently received by a voter suggests that their registration was out of date, and that they needed to visit the linked website. A WHOIS domain lookup, conducted by KMMO News the morning of March 5, shows that the domain was registered Feb. 27, 2026 through a privacy protection firm based in Canada.
Burton says that the messages appear to contain outdated voter information, and that voters who recently received a voter registration card and not moved should be correctly registered. She adds that voters can verify their registration status through the Missouri Secretary of State’s website, or by calling her office at 660-886-3331.
