The Missouri Valley College Baseball team is hosting its first game on the newly renovated Wood & Huston Field at Indian Foothills Park in Marshall on Tuesday, March 10th.
The Vikings will take on NCAA Division 2 Lincoln University in a 9-inning contest on the new turf field. MVC Assistant Athletic Director Andy Pulverenti says the new playing surface is the culmination of several years of work by the college, the City of Marshall, and the Parks and Recreation Department.
The Vikings had to play some of its home contests at Marshall High School while renovations were taking place. The Vikings will also open up conference play at Wood & Huston Field this weekend, hosting a four-game series against MidAmerica Nazarene on Friday and Saturday. The baseball program is just one of several athletic programs at MVC that hosts its events at Indian Foothills Park. Pulverenti says MVC is grateful for the partnership with the City and its Parks department.
First pitch for Tuesday’s game will begin at noon. The Vikings will be looking for their first win, hoping to snap a 15-game losing streak so far in 2026.
