Mark Mitchell’s 32 points weren’t enough to lift Mizzou over the Kentucky Wildcats, as the Tigers fell 78-72 in the second round of the SEC Tournament.

The game was back and forth early, but Kentucky went on and 8-0 run near the end of the half. The Wildcats would finish the half strong to go up 38-29 at intermission.

The Tigers attempted to mount a comeback in the second, erasing a 16-point deficit in the second half take a 70-69 lead with 4:34 remaining. However, Kentucky quickly rallied for seven unanswered points, and closed out their 78-72 victory.

Mitchell’s 32 points tied a season high as he shot 62 percent from the floor. T.O. Barret added 13 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists for the Tigers.

Mizzou falls to 20-12 on the season and 10-8 in SEC play. The Wildcats now advance to Quarterfinal action, where they’ll face top seeded Florida on Friday, March 13th.
