The Sweet Springs approved the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2026-2027 during its meeting on Monday, March 9th.

A public hearing on the proposed budget was held prior to the regular meeting. The budget includes about $2 million in estimated revenue in the General Fund, remaining at around the same level as the previous budget. It does include raises for full time employees. The budget was presented to the board and approved without any further discussion. It takes effect April 1st. A copy of the budget is available here: sweet-springs-2026-2027-budget

The board also approved the Cemetery mowing contract, approving a bid from Keith Thomas in the amount of $1,125 a month for a two-year period. The board then adopted a new code of ordinances, which was required by the updated state statute. Both readings of a bill were passed at the meeting.
