The Marshall Public Schools Board of Education approved the creation of an additional pre-Kindergarten teacher position at the Tom Butterfield Early Childhood Center.

The board approved the plan at their Mar. 10 meeting, upon the recommendation of superintendent Caleb Petet.

Also last Tuesday, the board approved a raise in the tuition rate for full-day pre-Kindergarten classes.

Weekly tuition rates for Marshall Public Schools staff will increase from $30 to $70 per student, while the non-staff rate will increase from $60 to $110. The board also approved an increase in the tuition rate for students enrolled in the practical nursing program at the Saline County Career Center, to $18,539.
