The Carrollton Town Council approved bids for three items during their meeting Monday, Mar. 16.

Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News that the council accepted the bid from Dinges Fire Company for a new fire hose, totaling $24,000. Dinges was the lowest of three bids submitted for the new hose. The council also accepted the lone bid for leasing 44 acres of land known as the Duderstadt Pasture, which will come out to $2640 per year for the next three years. Lastly, the council accepted the bid for a John Deere Z997R mower from Ag Power, totaling $21,975, for use by the street department.

The council also received a presentation from former mayor Susie Bliss, who provided the council information concerning next month’s proposed measure asking voters in the Carrollton R-VII School District to extend the district’s operating tax levy for the next 20 years. The municipal election is Tuesday, April 7.
