With temperatures jumping back into the 70s later this week, the Missouri Department of Transportation is stacking up on a number of box culvert replacement projects around the area.

Tuesday, Mar. 17 in Macon County, Route UU will close north of Callao from Fortune Street to Foghorn Avenue, between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. A culvert south of Sedalia along Route F is also scheduled for replacement Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. Two roadways in Howard County are scheduled to have culvert replacements throughout the week. All lanes of Route 124 will close between Routes A and Y west of Harrisburg beginning Tuesday, while one lane of Route Y will remain open.

Also planned this week by MoDOT is bridge maintenance throughout the week on westbound U.S. Route 36 at the Higgins Drain Ditch Bridge, between Laclede and Meadville. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane. Bridge maintenance is also scheduled for the Route H bridge over Salt Fork northeast of Fayette. Brush cutting will continue around the Knob Noster area, with crews operating on Route DD on Tuesday and Thursday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Crews will again focus on U.S. Route 50 between Routes 23 and D, with intermittent lane closures scheduled. General roadside work is scheduled for Howard County routes HH and U throughout the week, with one lane remaining open and crews flagging traffic through the work zone.
