With contests in full swing, the New Franklin FFA Chapter addressed the district’s board of education at their meeting Wednesday, Mar. 18.

Supt. Benji Dorson says the chapter is fielding 20 career development event teams, all with a goal to qualify for the state convention next month in Columbia.

The chapter is also participating in a donkey basketball event Thursday evening in Fayette. Meanwhile, the main agenda item for New Franklin’s school board was approval of next year’s salary schedule for both certified and non-certified staff.

Dorson also commended board members for their service as part of School Board Appreciation Month across Missouri. The New Franklin Board of Education next meets April 15.
