The Brunswick City Council increased the fee for street cutting during its meeting on March 17th.
City Clerk Sarah Clubine tells KMMO News the council agreed to increase the street cutting fee to $300 on paved streets and $150 on unpaved roadways. This fee would apply to any contractor needing to cut into the street for sewer line work. Clubine says if the roadway is repaired to the city’s satisfaction, the fee will be returned to the contractor. An ordinance formally approving the increase will be presented to the council during its April meeting.
The council then approved an ordinance regulating temporary housing in the city. The ordinance prohibits recreational vehicles and travel trailers to be used as permanent living quarters. A copy of the ordinance is available here: 2026_03_12-temporary-housing-ord
The board also approved a mowing bid from Ethan Miller with A Cut Above the Rest Law Service in the amount of $475 per mow at the city park, the Masonic-Douglas Cemetery, and the city pool. The council also approved the appointment of Donald Grotjan to the Housing Board.
The council’s will next meet on Tuesday, April 21st.
