Prosecutors in Boone County have filed a superseding indictment against an Ashland resident who previously worked as an emergency room physician in Sedalia.
The new indictment handed down Friday, Mar. 20 against 46-year-old Jeffrey L Teeter tacks on a misdemeanor charge of violating a protection order. Teeter was initially charged with domestic assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action and sodomy in connection with an incident Dec. 23, 2025 involving his wife. Court documents accuse Teeter of slapping her multiple times, punching her in the head, and pointing a pistol at her head after he had fired several rounds out of a window. The new charge accuses Teeter, who remains held without bond, of using a third party to send a gift to his wife’s child with a meaning exclusive to Teeter and her.
Arraignment on the new charge is set for March 30, with a status hearing on the docket for April 13.
