Cooper County authorities and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are investigating an incident reported at the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Howard County Sheriff’s Office, two male suspects armed with rifles allegedly entered and attempted to rob the casino. Following the robbery, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle and traveled into Howard County.

Responding officers later located the suspect vehicle abandoned on County Road 344. The suspects were not present upon law enforcement’s arrival and are currently at large. A coordinated search of the area was conducted by local law enforcement agencies, with assistance from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, including aerial support. Despite an extensive canvass, the suspects have not yet been located. Authorities are continuing their investigation and are asking the public to remain vigilant. Anyone with information regarding this incident or who may have observed suspicious activity in the area is encouraged to contact local law enforcement.
