The Fayette Board of Aldermen approved a supplemental agreement with the Missouri Department of Transportation to extend the project end date for sidewalk improvements on North Main Street during its meeting on Tuesday, March 24th.

City Administrator Deanna Cooper explains the ordinance was a requirement for the city’s Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Grant, which is funding the project. Cooper says project is replacing existing sidewalks along North Main Street, spanning from Elm Street to East Davis.

Cooper says the board also voted to change its workers compensation insurance provider to help the city save about $23,000 annually.

Aldermen also approved the appointment of Tara Bush to the Fayette Housing Authority Board. The City of Fayette is also accepting sealed bids for mowing at the Fayette Cemetery, a three-year lease of farmland located near the Water Treatment Plant, and a three-year lease of hay to be mowed and removed from the DC Rogers Lake area. The board plans to open all bids during its next meeting in April.
