The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the Federal Bureau of Investigations is now involved in the search for two suspects who are believed to have robbed the Isle of Capri Casino in Boonville.
An update Thursday, Mar. 26 from the Patrol says that the two suspects entered the casino around 2 p.m. Wednesday, one armed with a rifle and the other with a handgun. The two stole an unknown amount of money and fled in a vehicle that was later found abandoned on a county road just across the river near Franklin. The Patrol says they believe the suspect fled from the scene in another vehicle.
In addition to the FBI, the Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control is investigating the robbery with the assistance of Boonville Police and Cooper County Sheriff’s Department. The Patrol is urging anyone with information related to the investigation to call Troop F Headquarters at 573-751-1000. KMMO will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
