The Moberly School District has announced the appointments of its next Assistant Superintendent and Assistant High School Principal.
The Board of Education voted to hire Cynthia Basler as the next Assistant Principal at Moberly High School, succeeding Damon Wells, who will assume the principal position following the retirement of Deborah Hill-Haag. Basler brings over 20 years of experience in public education, having served as a teacher, counselor, and high school administrator. Superintendent Cristina Wright says Basler’s experience makes her a great addition to the district.
Wright says the board also hired current Elementary Principal Bobbi Martin as Moberly’s next Assistant Superintendent.
Martin brings nearly 20 years of dedicated service to the district and has served in a leadership role at Gratz Brown Elementary for the past six years. Both Martin and Basler will begin their new roles on July 1st.
In other news, the district has announced that Spring Break will start a day earlier for students. The district now has a half day planned for students on April 1st, with no school scheduled for April 2-6. Wright says the extra day was initially a built-in weather cancellation day that wasn’t utilized during the winter.
