Mary Jane Dooley, 91, of Sedalia, died Friday, March 27, 2026 at the Holden Manor Health & Rehabilitation Center in Holden.

Born December 10, 1934 in Windsor, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Elizabeth Kapeller Boyd.  On October 13, 1956 in Windsor, she married William R. Dooley, and he preceded her in death on July 24, 2000.

She is survived by two sons, William Kent Dooley (Gerald) of San Antonio, Texas, and Bruce Dooley (Donna) of Sarasota, Florida; three daughters, Elaine Horn of Sedalia, Janice Allred (Pat) of Sedalia, and Sarah Hudson (Jeff) of Holden; eight grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by a brother James Boyd.

Mrs. Dooley was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel.  She was a 1952 graduate of Windsor High School, where she served as Class Vice President.  She studied Library Science at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.  She taught and was Librarian at Sacred Heart Catholic School for many years until her retirement.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Chapel, with Fr. Joseph S. Corel officiating.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Sedalia.  Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church.  Memorials are suggested to the Sacred Heart Catholic School Foundation in care of McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia.
