The Odessa Board of Aldermen held a discussion over the city’s recent electric rate study during its meeting on Wednesday, March 25th.

Aldermen first reviewed the findings of the Electric Rate Study conducted by Allgeier, Martin and Associates during its March 9th meeting. The study found the City’s commercial rate to be high, while the residential rate was low for what the cost of service is. Public Information Coordinator Leslie Shier says the board is hesitant to raise rates.

Shier says the board wants to meet with Allgeier, Martin and Associates to see how long they can wait before approving an increase.

In other action from Wednesday’s meeting, the board approved a professional services agreement with BerganKDV for auditing services. The board will next meet on Monday, April 13th.
