A second bridge along Route 2 between Leeton and Windsor will close Monday, Mar. 30 for replacement.
The Missouri Department of Transportation announced that contractors Emery Sapp & Sons will close the Route 2 bridge over East Tebo Creek beginning Monday to allow construction of its replacement. The current span was built in 1934 and is used by about 860 vehicles per day. The new bridge will be three feet wider, allowing 12-foot lanes in each direction. The crossing will also receive new barrier walls, guardrails at the ends, and new permanent striping. Crews expect to complete construction by the end of May. While construction is underway, signs will inform drivers of the detour.
The bridge is part of the Kaysinger Bridge Bundle, one of 20 bridges in seven counties include Henry and Benton that are in need of replacement or major rehabilitation over the next two years. The bundle includes the Little Tebo Creek bridge along Route 2, which reopened Friday after closing in January for replacement. Additional details about the Kaysinger Bridge Bundle are available on MoDOT’s website.
