A Marshall student leads the selections for this year’s Youth in Agriculture scholarships from the Missouri State Fair Foundation.

John Bartlett was announced Tuesday, Mar. 31 as the winner of the S Wayne Yokley Platinum Scholarship, sponsored by supporters of the fair’s Youth in Agriculture Program. Bartlett will receive $5000 to go toward his studies. He’s among 62 honorees announced, who were selected based upon their prior participation at the Missouri State Fair, community involvement, leadership roles, and grade point average. Scholarship recipients will receive recognition April 16, during the 98th Missouri State FFA Convention in Columbia.

Several honorees are from the region, including Elliott Cooley of Windsor, who will receive the $3500 Sharon Topliff Scholarship. Two area students, Gage Davis of Nelson and Kristin Waters of Norborne, will each receive $2500 supreme scholarships from the Missouri State Fair Foundation.
