UPDATE: Water service has been restored and a 48-hour boil advisory went into effect at 5:30 p.m. Customers should also be aware of flushing taking place this weekend.
The Saline County Public Water Supply District No.3 has issued a boil advisory for customers in the southern portion of the district after a water main break south of Marshall.
A representative for the district tells KMMO News that crews are working on the water main break along Route H near the Napton area, but it is unknown how long the repairs will take. With a loss of water pressure reported throughout the system, including within the city of Nelson, the district is advising customers who have lost service or have low water pressure to bring their water to a boil for three minutes and allow it to cool before consuming. This is until further notice. The district days they will provide further updates as the repairs continue.
