The United Way of Saline County will wind down its operations this summer, concluding 35 years of service to the community.
In a statement to KMMO News, executive director Mary Ann Gilpin says that the decision came, “following a thoughtful evaluation by our Board of Directors”, and “reflects the combined impact of ongoing economic challenges affecting campaigns, donor giving and grant support.” Gilpin says the local chapter will close its doors Aug. 31, and that they will honor their existing commitments to the best of their ability.
Gilpin adds that United Way of Saline County is grateful for the trust, generosity and support of their donors, volunteers community partners over the years.
