The Missouri State Highway Patrol says three people were injured when their vehicles collided head-on along a highway south of Tipton on Wednesday, Apr. 22.

Troopers report that the crash occurred around 10:30 p.m. on Route 5 near the intersection with Route NN, a mile south of Tipton. According to the patrol, a 19-year-old Sedalia woman was attempting to overtake a southbound tractor-trailer. When she was in the northbound lane, she collided head-on with a northbound car driven by a 19-year-old from Sunrise Beach. The two drivers, along with a passenger in the Sedalia vehicle, all sustained moderate injury and were taken to area hospitals. The three were all wearing their seat belts at the time of the crash, according to troopers.
