The Kansas City Royals got a quality start from Noah Cameron, defeating the Los Angeles Angels 6-3 Friday night at Kauffman Stadium.

After three scoreless innings to start the game, Kansas City was finally able to break through in the fourth, scoring five runs in the inning against Yusei Kikuchi. Starling Marte put the Royals ahead with an RBI forceout, which was followed by an RBI single from Isaac Collins, a two-run double from Elías Díaz, and an RBI double from Michael Massey.

The Angels finally scored in the seventh, scoring three runs in the inning to make it 5-3. Noah Cameron went 6.1 innings, giving up three runs on eight hits and three walks, to go along with six strikeouts.

Collins added another RBI single in the eighth to give Kansas City a little more breathing room in the ninth. Lucas Erceg pitched around a walk, striking out two to pick up his sixth save.

The Royals improve to 9-17 on the season. They’ll go for the series win over Los Angeles today, with Cole Ragans on the mound to face Walbert Urena. Pregame coverage begins at 5:30, with first pitch at 6:10 on KMMO FM 102.9.
