A Clinton man is facing felony charges following a robbery reported at a Warrensburg gas station on Wednesday, April 29.

Deputies with the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to the store Wednesday, where the cashier reported that a white male brandishing a firearm came into the store and demanded money. The suspect took approximately $700 in cash and fled the scene on foot.

Investigators reviewed surveillance footage of the incident and were later able to identify the suspect as 18-year-old Maddex Mount thanks to an anonymous tip. Mount was located and taken into custody at his residence in Clinton. Authorities were able to recover some of the stolen currency and the handgun used in the robbery.

Mount has been charged with felonies for armed criminal action and robbery in the first degree. Bond was set at $100,000 cash only. A bond reduction hearing is set for 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 6 at Johnson County Circuit Court.
