The No. 4 Missouri Valley College men’s volleyball team had their season come to a close for a second straight year in the semifinals of the NAIA Men’s Volleyball National Championship, falling to No. 1 Park on Friday in three games, 14-25, 19-25, 17-25.

The first game started with teams trading points through a 4-4 score, as Freshman Outside Hitter Loan Fargier landed two kills, and Junior Middle Blocker Joao Tavares and Junior Outside Hitter Frederico Baptista each had a kill. Park eventually took the lead, winning five-straight points to make it a 9-4 score. Points were traded over the next stretch of play, featuring a kill from Tavares, and a kill apiece and a block from Sophomore Middle Blocker Martin Tseyera and Senior Opposite Luca Hasse to cut its deficit down to 13-10. The Pirates followed with another run, taking the next six points to hold a 19-10 advantage. Freshman Outside Hitter Bart Mulder had the next two kills for the Vikings, but Park won the final four points to close out the game with a 25-14 win.

Game two began with Park building up an early 7-2 lead. Hasse put down three kills to close the gap down, but the Pirates responded by taking six of the next nine points to extend their lead 15-8. Missouri Valley worked back to cut their deficit over the next stretch of points, as Fargier had a kill, and Junior Outside Hitter Andrey Bastos and Tavares added a kill each and teamed up on a block to trail, 19-14. The two teams traded the next several points as Mulder and Bastos landed a kill apiece, but Park maintained its advantage through the rest of the game, and finished out a 25-19 win to take a 2-0 lead in the match.

Needing a win in the third game to extend the match, the Vikings used a PU error, a kill from Hasse, and two kills from Tavares, but the team trailed, 5-3. Missouri Valley tied the game over the next stretch of play, as Tavares had a kill and an ace, along with a kill from Bastos, and three kills from Hasse to make it a 10-10 score. Park responded by winning five-straight points to reclaim their lead, and extended the advantage 20-13. The Vikings were unable to close the gap through the rest of the game. Hasse added a kill, Bastos had two more kills, and Junior Outside Hitter Pierro Porras landed an ace, but Park won the game, 25-17, to take the match and eliminate Missouri Valley from the tournament.

Hasse led with nine kills, while Tavares followed with six kills and two aces. Bastos finished with five kills and four digs, and Fargier had five kills. Freshman Leonardo Poiatti led with 19 assists. Missouri Valley totaled two blocks and five aces as a team.

The loss drops Missouri Valley to 25-6 to end its 2026 season, while Park advances to the National championship match with a 34-0 record. Park will face Saint Xavier of Illinois, who defeated The Master’s of California in four games to earn a shot at the title.
