The Carrollton Town Council continued updating their ordinance to match recent changes to state law.

The council voted Monday, May 4 to amend their ordinance defining the offense of interfering with a first responder. Mayor Keith Higgins tells KMMO News the amendments had not been included with a block of other ordinances that needed to be updated to match state statutes. Also Monday night, the council adopted a resolution grouping 23 properties around the courthouse square into the Downtown Revitalization Target Area. Higgins says the blight designation is necessary as part of ongoing efforts to apply for Community Development Block Grant funds. The town council also accepted the bid from A-Town Fence for the installation of a new fence around the ball field at Martin Park, totaling $15,940.
