
Four Smith-Cotton High School music students were honored with top awards during spring concerts.
Senior Brooklyn Ditzfeld received the National School Choral Award, the highest honor for high school choral performers. It recognizes dedication and musical achievement. Ditzfeld was presented with the award during the Senior Farewell Show Choir Concert on April 30
Senior Josue Carlos received the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, which honors the high school’s outstanding jazz musician. Fellow senior Gabriel Toderescu Stavila received the John Phillip Sousa Band Award, which recognizes superior musicianship and outstanding dedication. Both Carlos and Stavila received their awards during the Spring Band Concert on May 5
Finally, Senior Audrey Lewis received the National School Orchestra Award during the Spring Orchestra Concert on May 7. This award recognizes excellence in playing and contributions to the ensemble.
