The next bridge slated for replacement in the Kaysinger Basin Bridge Bundle closes Monday, May 18 south of Windsor.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says the Route E Bridge over Barker Creek will close for up to 60 days, allowing the design-build team of Emery Sapp & Sons along with Bartlett & West to complete the replacement span. The current bridge was built in 1947 and handles over 1100 cars per day on average. It’s one of 20 bridges across seven west-central Missouri counties considered to be in deteriorating condition.
The new bridge will be widened to a total of 24 feet, allowing two ten-foot-wide lanes with shoulders. Contractors will also add guardrails along the length of the project. Drivers are asked to consider alternate routes while the project is underway. MoDOT advises that no signed detours will go in place.
