Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office and Pettis County Coroner’s Office are investigating a death that occurred in the Pettis County Jail on Saturday, November 9.
According to a news release from Pettis County Sheriff Kevin Bond, the female inmate became unresponsive in a booking cell just before 9:30 a.m. Deputies performed CPR until relieved by Pettis County Ambulance District personnel, but resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful.
Pettis County Coroner Robert “Skip” Smith released the name of the victim as 44-year-old Modina M. Bradshaw, of Sedalia. She had been confined in the jail facility since her arrest on Wednesday, November 6.
An autopsy to determine the cause of death has been scheduled for early this upcoming week.
