A 19-year-old Sedalia resident has been charged with multiple felonies for allegedly shooting a gun out of moving vehicle in the direction of another person on November 21.
According to a probable-cause statement, Brandon Lynch is alleged to have fired a revolver from the vehicle in the area of the 200 block of West 7th Street. He told authorities he felt threatened by the other person, so he went through the sunroof and fired a cap gun to try to scare him. However, the officer pointed out there was damage to a funeral home, and Lynch then reportedly stated he fired a .22 in the other person’s direction.
The other subject told authorities he wanted to fight Lynch, so he walked toward the vehicle. He said he went to pick up a stick and Lynch fired a gun at him. The officer determined the other subject was not a threat to Lynch when Lynch fired the weapon.
According to court documents, a warrant has been issued and Lynch has been charged with a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree or Attempt; two counts of a Class B Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon- Shooting from a Moving Vehicle at a Person, Moving Vehicle or Building; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond has been set at $50,000 cash or surety.
An initial hearing for Lynch is pending at Pettis County Circuit Court.
