A Marshall man accused of several felonies relating to a shooting incident in Cooper County on May 15 is scheduled to appear in court this week.
According to Boonville Police, officers were dispatched to the Harley Park area, and two persons were transported from the scene to University Hospital in Columbia for treatment of gunshot wounds.
On May 16, the Boonville P.D. arrested Derrick Anthony Young, and he was charged the same day.
Court documents say Young, who is now 31, has been charged with two counts of a Class A Felony for Assault in the First Degree- Causing Serious Physical Injury to Any Person; another Class A Felony for Unlawful Use of a Weapon; and an Unclassified Felony for Armed Criminal Action. Bond remains at $500,000 cash or surety.
Young entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing on July 22.
Young’s next hearing is scheduled to be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9, at Cooper County Circuit Court.
