An area teenager is going to be featured on an episode of a popular television show, competing for a five-figure prize.
According to his Facebook page- Heath Creek Forge- 19-year-old Colton Kiso began blacksmithing at 10 years old. Kiso, who lives near Marshall Junction, will try out his talents against others in an episode of “Forged in Fire.”

According to its Wikipedia page, in each episode of the program that premiered in 2015, four bladesmiths compete in a three-round elimination contest to forge bladed weapons, with the overall winner receiving $10,000 and the day’s championship title. The series is hosted by Wil Willis, with a three-judge panel- all experts in weapon history and use.
Kiso said it all started with him just scrolling on his phone.
