A Marshall man is facing a couple of felony charges after authorities executed a search warrant and tried to take him into custody on January 18.
Authorities say they were tipped off about a man at residence in the 1100 block of South Sharpe Avenue who was wanted in Linn County on an outstanding warrant.
After obtaining a search warrant, authorities tried to take Devon Vanosdoll into custody, however he refused to comply with orders to get on the ground. One of the police officers took control of one of Vanosdoll’s arms, however Vanosdoll pulled away and continued to resist. Another officer advised Vanosdoll that he would be tazed if he did not comply, and Vanosdoll stated he is complying while continuing to pull away. The officer deployed his Taser, and officers were able to arrest him. While in the room of the residence where Vanosdoll was located, officers observed a glass pipe that contained some methamphetamine.
Vanosdoll has been charged with a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; a Class E Felony for Resisting Arrest; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $15,000 cash or surety.
Vanosdoll’s initial appearance is pending at Saline County Circuit Court.
