An area utility company is waiving disconnections durign this current health crisis.
A news release says as the Marshall community is faced with the challenges of COVID-19, Marshall Municipal Utilities wants to ensure its customers have the utility services they need to keep their families safe. Effective immediately and until further notice, MMU will not disconnect services from any customers unless requested by the customer for repairs, moving, etc.
While the business office is currently open, MMU has taken additional steps to disinfect the lobbies while reinforcing healthy habits to its employees.
In order to reduce physical contact, effective March 23, MMU is temporarily waiving the online convenience charge of $4.95 in order to allow customers to make their payments from home. If you visit the MMU office, MMU urges you to use the drive-thru window or the night-deposit box to make your payments.
For all customers who are having trouble paying their bill, MMU will be waiving all late payment fees until further notice.
MMU says it wants to help its customers, so just give it a call and it will work to set up a payment plan that works for you.
