Saturday 22nd November 2025

Absentee voting is now available for the Primary Election to be held Tuesday, August 4.
According to a release from Clerk Norma Sparks, Carroll County voters may obtain their ballot in person at the county clerk’s office or request an absentee ballot by mail. Requests for ballots by telephone are not allowed by Missouri election law. Requests must be in writing, and include a signature of the voter, their guardian or relative within the second degree by consanguinity or affinity.
Party Primaries are held to nominate candidates for the General Election in November, therefore voters must choose a party ballot. When requesting a ballot, the voter must indicate the party preference of Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Constitution, Green or nonpartisan. The nonpartisan ballot has the question of expanding Medicaid in Missouri. In Washington and Fairfield Townships, there also is a question for a tax-levy increase for the Golden Age Nursing Home District.
A special provision has been made for voting absentee for the August and November elections due to COVID-19. There is a seventh reason for those who are at risk of contracting the virus, which does not have to be notarized, and a special mail-in option that does have to be notarized. For forms and a description of both, residents may go to the county’s website at www.carrollcomo.org.
The deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the Primary Election is 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 8.
