A 63-year-old Lexington man has been charged with a couple of drug-related felonies.
According to a police report, after a traffic stop, one of the vehicle’s occupants told authorities that they had purchased Xanax pills from Wilmar Bramlett at his residence, which is adjacent to Lexington High School, Lex La-Ray Technical School and Lexington Middle School. During execution of a search warrant at the residence, authorities say they located a pill bottle labeled Alprazolam (generic Xanax); and another pill bottle and a glass pipe, each of which contained a white residue, which field tested to be methamphetamine.
Bramlett has been charged with a Class A Felony of Distribution of a Controlled Substance in a Protected Location; a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bramlett posted $15,000 personal-recognizance bond on July 21.
Bramlett entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing on July 20. His next hearing is pending at Lafayette County Circuit Court.
