A 23-year-old Marshall man is facing drug-related felony charges after an incident on Sunday, March 1.
According to a report from the Saline County Sheriff’s Department, deputies conducted a stop of two males on bicycles, who were traveling on the wrong side of the roadway, not displaying required lighting for hours of darkness, and not utilizing hand and arm signals as required. Deputies activated their patrol vehicle’s emergency lights, initiating a stop, and one subject fled on foot.
The subject was given multiple commands to stop; however, he fled into a residence with deputies in pursuit. Once inside the residence, the subject resisted arrest, but was taken into custody. Upon exiting the residence, the second male had departed the area. Marshall police assisted in searching for the second subject who was located multiple blocks away. The first subject was arrested for possession of a controlled substance; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; unlawful use of a weapon; fleeing; and resisting arrest. The second subject (whose name is not listed in the report) was arrested for several warrants.
Tyler Morrison has been charged with two counts of a Class D Felony for Possession of a Controlled Substance. Bond has been set at $7,500 cash only.
Morrison was arraigned on Monday, March 2. His next hearing is set for 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at Saline County Circuit Court.
