The main entrances to an area courthouse have been blocked off for the time being.
According to a news release from the Saline County Commission, with concern continuing to grow around the spread of the coronavirus or Covid-19, Saline County Commissioners are instituting all the necessary precautions and processes to safeguard the courthouse, courts and offices.
To be proactive in battling this virus, the commission has limited building access to the basement handicapped entrance only. The second floor north and south doors will be locked. The basement access will be manned during this time for security services for the courts system. The commission is asking the public to limit access to the courthouse for urgent business only. The commission encourages its constituents to use online access or drop boxes.
Signs will be posted on the outside doors to direct the public.
As this is uncharted territory, the commission is taking the steps best known at this time. As situations change, the commission will make the proper adjustments. As always, the health safety and well-being of constituents, employees and communities are of paramount concern. The commission will continue to monitor this evolving situation.
