Multiple media outlets are reporting there was a standoff between a barricaded individual and multiple law-enforcement agencies in Pettis County on Sunday.
According to multiple reports, Sedalia Police received a call and responded to a domestic disturbance at 11:30 a.m. The suspect would not surrender to authorities after their arrival; and he refused to allow authorities to enter the apartment.
After about two hours of negotiating with the suspect, law-enforcement officers attempted to enter the apartment to rescue four juveniles who were inside. However, upon entry, the suspect fired shots at the officers. Police did not return fire for safety of the juveniles.
According to the highway patrol, the standoff ended about 9 p.m., and the suspect was taken into custody. The four juveniles were not injured. The suspect’s name is not being released at this time.
