A Marshall woman is facing a felony charge for allegedly hitting another woman in the head with a baseball bat on January 3, 2019.
According to a probable-cause statement, authorities were told a woman who lives in Pinewood Circle was struck in the head with a baseball bat; and the perpetrator left the scene in a vehicle. That vehicle was stopped by a police officer a short time later. Inside the vehicle, the officer found a wooden baseball bat that met the description of the one used during the incident. A glass pipe containing methamphetamine residue also was located. Authorities say the victim had a visible knot on the back of her head.
Kathy Martinson has been charged with Class D Felonies for Domestic Assault in the Second Degree and Possession of a Controlled Substance; and a drug-related misdemeanor. Bond has been set at $25,000 cash or surety.
Martinson was arraigned on Thursday, March 5. Her next hearing is set for 11 a.m. on Monday, March 9, at Saline County Circuit Court.
