The Missouri Public Service Commission has approved a request filed by Evergy Missouri Metro (formerly Kansas City Power & Light Company) to change the fuel adjustment charge (FAC) on the monthly bills of its electric customers.
A news release says Evergy Missouri Metro made two filings. In its first filing (ER-2020-0221), Evergy Missouri Metro proposed to adjust the FAC to reflect changes in its fuel and purchased power costs for the six-month period- July through December 2019. The second filing was Evergy Missouri Metro’s FAC true-up (EO-2020-0220).
For a residential customer using 1,000 kWh (kilowatt-hours) of electricity a month, the FAC will drop by approximately $0.62 a month, from approximately $0.73 a month to approximately $0.11 a month. The change is expected to take effect on April 1, 2020.
Evergy Missouri Metro serves approximately 293,000 electric customers in Missouri, including the counties of Carroll, Chariton, Howard, Lafayette, Pettis and Saline.
