Cooper County has seen a spike in COVID-19 cases this week.
According to the Cooper County Health Center, there were 16 newly diagnosed cases on Wednesday, bringing the total number of cases to 53 since the start of the pandemic. There are 23 active cases and 30 cases have recovered. To date, there have been no deaths related to the virus in Cooper County and two people remain hospitalized.
The largest increase was seen in community transmission, related to congregate living facilities within the county. There have been eight travel related cases and 45 cases have been through community transmission.
The Cooper County Health Center strongly encourages all citizens to wear a mask when out in public places.
