
While four area counties did not update information about COVID-19 cases over the weekend, three did.
According to county health officials, in Cooper County, one new positive case was reported on Sunday, bringing its overall total of positive cases to 138. With 93 recoveries, that leaves 45 active cases, including two hospitalizations.
Travel-related cases number 10, with the other 128 being through community transmission. Also, 44 cases are through congregate living.
No new positive cases were reported, so the overall total remains at 47 in Howard County. With two more recoveries, bringing that total to 42, there are five active cases in the county.
Also, no new cases were reported in Lafayette County over the past couple of days.
As of 3 p.m. on Friday, August 7, 134 of the total of 171 cases had recovered. With three deaths, that left 34 active cases.
Updates have not been made available from Saline, Carroll, Chariton and Pettis Counties.
