More than half of the counties in the KMMO listening area saw a rise in positive COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, August 11.

According to health department officials, in Pettis County, the total positive case count increased from 512 on Monday to 526 on Tuesday. With 405 positive cases recovered and four deaths, there are 117 active cases in the county, including four persons hospitalized.

Saline County’s total of positive COVID-19 cases increased by 10 from 431 to 441. With 386 positive patients recovered- including three on Tuesday- and seven deaths, there are 48 active cases in the county, including two persons hospitalized.

In Cooper County, the positive case count grew by six to 148 on Tuesday. With 119 positive patients recovered and two deaths, there are 27 active cases.

Lafayette County’s total number of positive cases increased by two to 176. With 134 positive cases recovered, and three deaths, there are 39 active cases.

The latest numbers available in Howard County say three new positive cases were confirmed on Monday, bringing its overall total to 50. Including 44 recoveries, there are six active cases of the virus in the county.

One new positive case of COVID-19 was confirmed in Chariton County on Monday to make 22 total since the beginning of the pandemic. With 14 persons released from public health isolation, there are eight active cases.

At last report on Friday, August 7, all 87 of the positive cases of COVID-19 had recovered in Carroll County.
