A 43-year-old Sedalia man died in a traffic crash in Pettis County on Friday.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred as an eastbound truck, driven by Chris Eye, traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Eye, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Cooper County Coroner James Hurt at 7:30 p.m.

The crash happened at 6:09 p.m. one mile west of Route BB.
