A 51-year-old Sedalia man is facing felony charges relating to an alleged burglary in June.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of East Main Street on June 1 to investigate a possible burglary. The building in question is a boarded-up older building not in current daily use.

Authorities noticed a cart nearby with scrap metal on it and a couple of bags on the ground with gloves, tools and other burglary-type items in them. There also was a bicycle and an appliance dolly.

Authorities canvassed the area and eventually a subject began tossing gloves and tools out the window. Authorities took Eric A. Monsees into custody.

Monsees is charged with a Class D Felony for Burglary in the Second Degree and a Class E Felony for Possession of Burglary Tools. Monsees posted the $10,000 surety bond on June 12.

Monsees waived his formal arraignment and entered a plea of not guilty on October 5. A hearing in this case is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 2 at Pettis County Circuit Court.
