For registered voters who cannot get to the polls for the General Election and want to cast a ballot can do so during special hours on Saturday, October 31, at their county clerk’s office, if they meet the criteria.

Absentee voters must provide one of the listed reasons for voting absentee:
— Absence on Election Day from the jurisdiction of the election authority in which such voter is registered to vote;
— Incapacity or confinement due to illness or physical disability, including a person who is primarily responsible for the physical care of a person who is incapacitated or confined due to illness or disability, (No Notary Required);
— Religious belief or practice;
— Employment as an election authority or by an election authority at a location other than such voter’s polling place;
— Incarceration, provided all qualifications for voting are retained.
— Certified participation in the address confidentiality program established under sections 589.660 to 589.681 because of safety concerns.
— I have contracted or am in an at-risk category for contracting or transmitting COVID-19 (No Notary Required).

Relatives within the first degree (parents and children) may complete an absentee ballot application, in person, on behalf of the voter who wishes to vote absentee.

Special hours in Saline County are from 8 a.m. to noon at the County Clerk’s office on the north side of the square in Marshall.

Hours also are 8 a.m. to noon in Chariton, Cooper, Howard and Lafayette Counties in the KMMO listening area. In Carroll County, the special hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. In Pettis County, special hours are from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Absentee voting will be accepted during regular business hours at your county clerk’s office until 5 p.m. on Monday, November 2.
