Kenneth Howard “Bear” Rimmer, age 59, of rural Marshall, died Sunday, November 1, 2020 at his home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Inurnment will follow at Malta Bend Cemetery.

Born June 15, 1961 in Marshall, he was the son of Stephen B. Rimmer and Lavonne “Bonnie” Daugherty, both who survive of Marshall. Bear lived in Saline County most of his life, worked as a lineman technician for 40 years and was a member of I.B.E.W. Union Local 53. He loved the outdoors and was an avid sportsman.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by one daughter, Kara Thompson (Michael) of Highlandville; twin sons, Gabriel Rimmer of Nelson and Kenneth Rimmer (Shannon) of Republic; three grandchildren: Madison, Amelie and Finnegan; one brother, Stephen B. “Buddy” Rimmer of Warsaw; one sister, Elizabeth Gale Hunter of Marshall; two uncles, Dan Daugherty and David Rimmer; an aunt, Christie Daugherty; a great-aunt, Evelyn Gauldin Lynch; nieces and nephews: Stephen, Scott, Nathaniel and Bonni; cousins: Greg, Chelle, Jon, Jennifer, Teresa; as well as their families and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by one brother, D. Pattrick Rimmer.

The family expresses their gratitude to Kim, Jimmy, Brenda, Kannon, Nathaniel and Norman for their loving care; to Shelly, Robbie, Brad, Gale, Bud, Chelle, Dan and Greg for meals and support; and to Compassus Hospice of Columbia.
