Two counties in the KMMO listening area gave updates on COVID-19 numbers on Thursday, November 5.

According to health-department officials, in Pettis County, 85 new positive cases were added, raising its total to 2,166 since the beginning of the pandemic. With 1,430 positive patients released from public health isolation as recovered and 28 deaths, there are 708 active cases, including 20 positive patients hospitalized.

In Chariton County, the number of positive cases increased by 22, upping its total to 182. With 104 positive patients being released from public health isolation as recovered, there are 78 active cases.

Updates were not available from Saline, Carroll, Cooper, Howard and Lafayette Counties.

The Pettis County Health Center will be closed on Friday, November 6. Officials say “If you test positive or are told you are a close contact, please stay home and follow the guidelines.”
