James F. Huesgen, age 85, of Marshall, died Sunday, November 15, 2020, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, November 23, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Tom Alber officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the church. Burial, with military rites, will follow at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed at all services.

Memorials are suggested to St. Peter Catholic Church or Big Bend Retreat in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com

Born October 21, 1935, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Ray Huesgen and Anna Backes Huesgen. He lived in Saline County his entire life, was a 1953 graduate of Mercy Academy and attended Rockhurst College. On November 6, 1954, he married Alice Glenn who survives. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 555. He was a farmer and local businessman. He was also a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and served as president of the Jaycee’s.

Survivors include his wife, Alice; six children, James Nicholas Huesgen of Marshall, Randall Joseph Huesgen (Lisa) of rural Marshall, Thomas Jude Huesgen (Sheila) of rural Marshall, Marie Judette Rotert (Randy) of Lee’s Summit, MO, Andrea Damien Sivils (Jamie) of Springfield, MO and Gabrielle Jolie Huston (H.J.) of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Donald Huesgen of Reading PA; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jacqueline Marie Huesgen Marengo; two brothers, John and Gene Huesgen; and four sisters, Dorothy Kropp, Martha McGrath, Rosemary McLaughlin and Norma Jean McKendree.
